A Visit to the Newly Opened Mall
Nov 19, 2007

Last November 16, 2007 was the official date for the first opening of the SM Supercenter in Muntinlupa. This is by far the closest mall from where I live. Yay! With its size no larger than any SM City branches in the country (I think), who would have thought that four (4) cinemas and a Hypermarket could fit inside it. Convenient for us especially for the people who live along the southern portion of Muntinlupa and residents of San Pedro in the province of Laguna. Located at Tunasan, Muntinlupa, this super center is the first SM of it's kind as it threatens supermarkets and malls in the area and in 1st district in Laguna. Labels: My Life, Others, Philippines
The day of the opening, we decided to give it a visit, stroll and do buy some groceries for our store and for personal needs. As expected, traffic slowed to a crawl along the Laguna - Metro Manila border a few kilometers away to the mall's location. Add to that, an on-going road construction on the other lane across Mercury Drugstore a few meters from the mall's main parking entrance. Reaching the front, we fetched Dad who arrived early due to his renewal of his driver's license from LTO (beside the mall) and headed to the back portion of the mall to park. Parking's already full by then and from the looks of it, this is the smallest parking space (based from the SM malls I've visited) I've ever been. No space to park our vehicle, we decided to park outside just beside the mall as many customer's have already done the same for their vehicles.
As we went inside the mall, a lot of people mostly bystanders, those visiting the mall and those only to watch the performing celebrity for that day crowd the hallways. Common for a newly opened mall where most stroll inside to look what's new inside and to cool-off from the days heat. In my own estimate, walking from the mall's entrance and to reach the back portion may took just 5-7 minutes on average... just for the single floor. The floor area of this SM Supercenter is just 52,000 square meters both the first and second level. I'm hoping that in the long run, maybe after 5 years they'll expand and add a department store. That'll be cool. The architectural design of SM Muntinlupa is the same with all SM malls in the country preferably the small ones. Inside, there is this section in the center of the mall where shows and exhibits are held and where people converge to relax and sit on benches. Overseeing the second level establishments from the first level. Partial sunlight makes it through the frosted glass ceiling providing natural light inside just to conserve energy for the day.
I never had the chance to roam the whole of SM Muntinlupa as we went there to buy some groceries. Along the way to the Hypermarket, I saw Silicon Valley, Octagon and CDR-King on the second level. I am thrilled to see that CDR-King is just a few kilometers away from our house. Not before when I need to go to Pavillion Mall in Binan several miles away just to purchase low cost blank CD's. SM Muntinlupa also has Smart Wireless Center in which is convenient for us especially for my mom who do a lot of loading, for Smart Money and some related services.
Upon reaching Hypermarket, I had a clear view that this portion is the priority of SM Muntinlupa. In fact, more people are in the supermarket than the rest of the establishments located inside the mall. Imagine, 11 hectares worth of space dedicated just for the supermarket. It's odd though that SM Hypermarket is located on the 2nd level just above the parking area. I like what I'm seeing inside the supermarket. Spacious entrance and the products are well organized. The only problem we encountered was that some products hasn't been tagged with price tags. You need to point the item's bar code onto this device's laser to inquire about the cost. Most customers are not used to this device yet and some children started to play along with it. Resulted to a pile-up of customers, hampering the way of the incoming carts and buyers. Another frustration was the lack of seafoods on it's wet market section.
I saw this box of Whiskas as I passed along the pet food section inside the Hypermarket. Priced at P88, I decided to get one and placed it on our cart. I thought it's time to feed my 4 month old pet cat named "Shampoo" a new treat aside from what we give her after meal. The texture of the Whiskas I bought is like that of a dog food but much smaller. Tuna flavored mini-crackers which shaped like mini-fishy is a treat to my lovable "Shampoo".
I'm planning of going back there to roam around and hopefully to watch a movie from one of its cinemas. Is it goodbye for Glorietta Cinemas? For now, maybe but not yet. Before, I like to travel from San Pedro to Ayala just to watch a movie. No kidding. Maybe I'm used to it since I went college in Makati back then. Being familiar with the mall brings much confidence and a sense of feeling that this is your 3rd home. Wahehehe. Who knows, sooner or later, SM Supercenter Muntinlupa will be my next favorite mall.
Below images taken last November 2, 2007.

In response to both Mr. Bluep of OTWOMD and Ms. Marni of Midori-X's Desktop Free View tag that was bestowed upon me. I, JP aka Elmo now brings you my 2 desktop snapshots of my 2 PC's. Let me first explain why I did took two screen capture from both my 2 PC's. The time when I knew I was tagged by Bluep is when I was using my faster PC. I followed the instructions on his post, pressed the "print screen" in my keyboard, paste it on Macromedia Fireworks and exported the image as JPG. Two days later, Marni tagged me with the same topic. I was using the other, slower PC when I read her entry. I took the snapshot, used Paint and then produce the image file. A draft post was already created by the time I finished uploading the images . PC A PC B TAG STARTS HERE My Desktop Free View Instruction: A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. You can do a screen capture by: [1] Going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key). [2] Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V). [3] If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it. B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of Icons, things like that. C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well. D. Add your name to this list of Free Viewers with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants. Labels: Others
When it comes to wallpapers, I like the nature themed desktop background most. It relaxes me whenever I look or stare at it. Especially when I sit in front of the computer for several hours reading articles or surfing the net. I'm also choosy when it comes to wallpapers. It must match the color of my taskbar. :D. Some samples can be found here also.
BTW, I'm also using an Icon management utility called "Rocket Dock", the icons that you see on the taskbar. It is a nifty tool that let's you manage icons. For more info, please visit the Rocket Dock website.
Any kind of wallpaper is selected as the desktop background on this PC. As long as it matches the color of the taskbar. This time, I chose the "penguin with the igloo" wallpaper. It looks cute kasi eh.
Now comes the tagging part. I'll tag Aaron, Makoy, Yatot, Neil, Jehzlau, Helthler, Karlo , Lalon and Allen.
List of those who participated in the tag:

Blog Status Part 1

I announced earlier on my previous post that my blog will be on a 1, 2 or 3 week hiatus. The plan of moving my blogspot blog to my own hosting and domain were among the reasons for the sudden blog silence. A week passed and it seems that I've done 80-90% of my work including the unplanned reconstruction and facelifting of my blog template and the main site. For the time being, I decided to post again knowing that there are some minor codes to add to finish my blog template. You can also check the main site although still incomplete, I don't have any plans of removing it.
On my webhosting, I'm still reading the cPanel documentation and exploring it's settings and features. The Awstats under Web/FTP is the most compelling and probably my most visited section on the cPanel. It let's you see your domain's site statistics. Much like Google Analytics. Here, I can figure out the broken links on my site, the number of visits and how many times the site is crawled every day. Although it updates just every 24 hours, not real time, this tool helps you in diagnosing common problems and analyze traffic for your site.
As I've mentioned before, I moved my blog under my new hosting and domain. In Blogger, I've changed the publishing settings from blogspot domain to sFTP publishing. sFTPpublishing means that I'll be publishing my blog to my webhost using the Secure File Transfer Protocol. Instead of having my post on blogspot, Blogger now tranfers my posts, archives, rss on my domain. It was hard at first especially that I'm new to ftp publishing, The settings under Blogger's FTP was confusing until I figure it out after several trials. I need to setup an FTP account on my hosting which includes username and password so that Blogger can seamlessly transfer my blog to my hosting account. There are times that FTP connections between Blogger and my webhost won't respond to each other. Most part of my experience, the transfer was 100% ok.
Accomplishing those comes with some risks. Previous direct links on one of my posts that are previously indexed by search engines cause some broken links. Since I've changed my blog URL, all the search engine traffic now lands on my main blog page. Visitors need to search that specific posts they want to see or read. That'll be confusing for them and the reason why some of them leave my site early. My Technorati rank lost 20 precious links and my Feedburner subscription fell. I predicted these problems before and it's up to me to at least fix those or renew my inbound links again.
I've done some of the solutions and fixes to that and you can read all about that on my next post. I also added information on how I did my site and blog template. For now, I'll continue my re-coding of my blog.

Expressionistas at Leslie's Restaurant and Starbucks Coffee in Tagaytay

A brief intro on our barkada. "Prex" or "Expressionista" is the official brand name of our barkadahan. It was formed and founded way back in our college days by ourselves. Expressionista simply means "individual expressions", the different expressions one particular individual in the group reveal. It is an assortment of unique expressive attitudes combined into one entity. A group who usually rants about anything and anyone, direct and indirect. It is a group who thinks as one, and acts as one. I don't know if these definitions of the word "Prex" is the appropriate one to describe. We don't have a solid meaning nor come up with the definition about the name of our group. Hence, I provided these based on my experiences and observations.
One of our friends Ruth and Mon arrived a week ago from Singapore. They have issued a one week work leave for them to spend time with their families here in the Philippines. One of the planned events was the despedida along with the Prex in Tagaytay that happened last Saturday.
August 11, 2007, I woke up early and went to Pacita to meet with Richmond. I'll go along with him with his 6 month old Ford Escape to fetch Ruth in Pasig and Galvin and Jerome in Shell Buendia. We then proceeded to the planned meeting place in Festival Mall Alabang. We first stopped over at Jollibee Alabang to wait for Abby, Joan, Mae and Anna. We went on the parking lot outside Festival Mall and waited for Ted and Perc who carried their cars with them.
With 3 vehicles, the gang started the trip to Tagaytay. Along the way, we shared loads of stories and happy moments. Joan at that time is troubled because she had this volleyball competition to attend to from her work. She insisted to part ways with us when we reach Tagaytay so she can arrive at Mandaluyong before 1 pm. But the convincing power of the group made her stay the whole time.
We arrived at Tagaytay an hour later. We parked outside Leslie's Restaurant and went inside the establishment. The place was neat, it was like Bagaberde restaurant in Pasig when it comes to the atmosphere and the design. We looked for a table, found one right outside in the balcony type cottage. The view in the balcony was spectacular. Taal lake was vividly in view while we munch the food served to us. The delicious and sumptuous Bulalo, Sisig, Fried Chicken, Calamares and Iced Tea were among the foods served. A band quartet played in the background with their string instruments. They played their chosen love songs and went on table after table. The cool breeze from the mountainside brushed against my skin, soothing effect that makes me well relaxed and at the same time sleepy. Taking pictures was the norm afterwards.
We left Leslies's and transferred at Starbucks Coffee, just 20 meters from the resto. There, we ordered frappuccino's, took pictures and went up on the second floor terrace. Noticeable at that time were the number of Koreans present in the area. Since we arrive at Leslie's, I saw numerous Koreans roaming the area. I guess this is a popular tourist destinations among Koreans.
5 pm, we decided it quits and we exchange hugs and farewells to Ruth and Mon who will part ways from us. The two will go back in Singapore the next day after a week's vacation here in the Philippines. The rest will extend the happy hours in Abby's house. Booze were served and we did a karaoke afterwards.
Here are some of the memorable shots of that day:
I've also include a 5 minute flash presentation showcasing some fond and unforgettable memories of Prex. Note, you must permit my blog to open pop-ups as the link below opens up one. You must allow script to run here because I use javascript for the pop up. And last, flash must be installed on your browser to view the presentation. Another thing, if the presentation doesn't play or appear on the window popup, wait an hour and try to view it again. I hosted my .swf file on an unstable server. Enjoy!

I knew about this Top 10 emerging influential blogs in 2007 months ago and have seen bloggers participated in this writing project popularized by Ms. Janette Toral. Only those blogs that started anytime from August 1, 2006 to the present have this privileged to be nominated among the top 10 by their fellow bloggers. Labels: Blogger, Others, Philippines
To join this effort, please do the following:
* Write a blog post and pick your choice of 10 (or less) emerging influential blogs. Any blog in the world can be picked. (You can update the same post entry up to July 28.)
* Include a link to this post to help spread the word. (Hope you can also vote for it in Digg)
* Post a comment and let us know about your entry. Only one entry per blogger. Cut-off date and time for submission of entries is on July 28, Saturday, 5:00 pm (GMT+8). Afterwards, submission of comments in this page shall be closed.
It's hard to think of blogs that should belong in the top 10. I do read plenty of blogs and a handful of them are the one's which I spend 20-40 minutes of my free time reading. I like to include them on my list. However, most of their blogs are 2-3 years old and cannot be included in the list. So I picked the ones that fall under the rules and I came up with 6 influential blogs of 2007 list.

Sorry Jhed, as of this time, your site is still down and I don't have any image of your blog. As soon as your's are online, I'll modify it as soon as possible. There you go, my 6 emerging influential blogs of 2007.
Update July 28, 2007: Image preview of Jhed's blog now available.

Pusang Gala

Foster's home for imaginary friends abandoned kittens and stray cats.
This ain't right. It seems that our house is an adoption center for animals. "Tapunan ba nang mga kuting ang bahay namin?" I said this every time whenever I see abandoned kittens or stray cats lurking outside our gate, searching for an opening that would enable for them to get in. Hoping that this (my crib) will be their safe haven and a permanent shelter.
"Pusang gala" is a tagalog word which means "stray cats". It sometimes used as an alternative word for the F*** word. But no need to elaborate on that.
I found one this morning meowing at the back of our house (an open space, formerly a farm that was abandoned; "bukid"). There are two different meow sounds so I assumed they were two. What the hell are they doing there? But then I remembered our neighbor, just right next to our house, that throws kittens into the "bukid". They don't like cats and they usually throw them at the back of their house. However, most of the victimized kittens went to our vicinity. They were able to climb to the back of our house through the vines that creep on our back wall. It results to an annoying and loud meows as they reached the top, shouting their need for help. Well, it didn't happen today as I expected to. But as soon as I get back from the trip from Batangas pier this afternoon, I found the two new kittens on the roof gutter. They were able to climb and cross our roof and ended on the gutter. Loud meows there, each with different intervals, makes me irritated. I reached for them and throw them at the other lot not far from our house. They keep coming back until they get tired of their endless callings. What happened this day was not an isolated incident. I happened numerous times since 2001.
This events led me into thinking and asking, why? Is it me? Is there something in the house that attracts them?
I know I am fond of cats (but I do love dogs the most) and I usually made them follow me (some) while I imitate their meows (which I do sometimes and with an 80% accuracy). One time when my two friends and I went to Convergys Alabang for our application, we saw this white kitten on the bushes. I meowed to call the kitten and it meowed back. It then came to me and followed me as I continued meowing. My friends kept asking why am I doing that. They claim I look stupid. Hindi pa naman! Ahehe. Wait, there is something in my meow that makes the kitten follow me. I don't understand how well they communicate and hell no I understand a single meow they make. I think it's how I produce my meow. I don't know for know. Maybe?
Having two matured cats (a 6 year old and a 5 year old offspring from a stray mother cat named Miming), I have known almost all the meow sounds they make. From the way their meow sound when they're hungry to the high pitched meows they make while in a fight. I sometimes imitate the sounds to call them for food. We do have another cat, a stray female one, which popped out from nowhere and began to treat our house as her own and us a part of the family. Waah! The female cat was not contented, she let herself impregnated by our own cat. The result, a one happy family (with 4 offspring you see above in my photo slide show).
I'm searching for someone who can contact me and deliberately ask for the abandoned kittens here. I think there is some kind of an organization that nurtures and caters abandoned animals. I'm hoping someone would. Or better yet, color them with jobus and sell them for 100 bucks each. Wahehe!

Sight-seeing tayo with Google Earth

Oh men. I was suppose to post a meme tag from Adianka. However, I lost my interest already. Sorry for that. Now, to keep my posting frequency at least once a week, I decided to create a new post from scratch. I remember my reliable software application "Google Earth" and it's been there in my PC for month's, unused. I use Google Earth for directions and for sight-seeing. It gives you a birds eye view of a country, city, or the very location where you are now. So why not make this a post for this week? And so I did. I decided to share some of the places I've been to with details about my experiences and blah-blah's happened on that location. It includes images taken from Google Earth. ~Start Copying Here~ Alexa Redirect Train by Carl Ocab. Rules: Put anything you like above this list – Chit Chat, talkies, introduce what this is. Something like that. Start copying on the “~Start Copying Here~” and copy all the things listed without removing the links. (Of course, the train would be no use without those links.) Move all the sites labeled “Newcomers” to the list labeled “Oldies.” Add 5 sites that you want to include in the train and make their link like this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.example.com then invite them to join the train. Visit all the listed sites! (That’s not much work! Remember, if you plant good seeds they will also grow good) and look at your high Alexa ranking next week! Tag: 7 Random Facts About Me
May 22, 2007
JP aka Elmo
Eagleman Blog
Blogger

A tag was bestowed upon me. Wahehe. John Michael Vincent B. Bambico tagged me and for that I must provide my 7 random facts/habits about me.
Update: I've changed my facts. Due to confusion and my idiot-ness, I copied some of my "about me" from my Myspace account to this post. So here goes.
1. I work alone
Most of the time actually. I prefer to do things myself and won't let anyone help me. Well, depends on what and how hard the situation can be. In college, I do most of the jobs in groups projects. However, that gave me an impression that "mahilig ako mag-solo". But then, I want change like what my parents did. Long story.
2. Playing with my belly button lint
Sometimes, especially when I'm shirt-less due to the day's heat. It's kinda childish and weird actually and you probably might say "what's the fun in that?". Lint is the fiber-like grayish material found on your belly button. It's kinda like "libag" found on your neck and other parts of the body. I do this by sticking my small finger from my left hand into my belly button and scour it. Then I do the smelling. (yuck! hehe). I don't know why I do that. Sometimes I do it unnoticed like when I'm reading a long article on one of my favorite website.
3. Uber Single Since Birth
Most of my friends never believe that ,the fact that I'm good looking and bursting with appeal (LOL) yet I never had a single GF in my entire life. Sad to say, I never had. I plan to have but not yet, maybe sooner. Or let destiny guide my way. Bakit kaya? Well maybe because I am always hooked at my PC and my virtual environment. I don't socialize well, that maybe one of the reasons. I do have some instances that will lead sana to a relationship but never got there. I never got there (Piolo is that you? ahaha!). Di naman ako bakla (babae ako. ahaha. joke). Or simply no time at all? I'll wait for that special someone to come. Before studies and computer lang ang prority ko sa buhay. But then, I wish that someone will come, will caress me, yung papaliguan ako, papaypayan at paliligayahin (kanta to ah).
4. I don't apologize well
"Sorry seems to be the hardest word".I'm not the kind or person who will normally say "sorry" to the one I hurt. I'm not good at saying sorry face-to-face and verbally. I believe action speaks louder than words. Whenever I hurt someone and ready to reconcile, I'll just talk to that person and do things the normal way like nothing had happened.
5. I love foods with garlic and onions
Need to say more?!
6. News-aholic
It's been a habit for me to watch news on TV for at least 3 hours everyday, 7 days a week. Particular news channels are ANC, CNN, BBC and Bloomberg (market news). I'm interested on what's happening around the world, locally and internationally. Even when the news their airing is sometimes lame or boring, I still watch them. But then, through the years of following news on TV, there's one thing I want to say.
"Bush is an a-hole and the worst ruler in US history, Blair is a loyal blind , Gloria Arroyo did cheat on the last 04 elections and the Peso hits an all time high in the stock market."
7. I'm Security Freak
I do spend my time doing regular maintenance check-ups on my 2 pc's. It is a routine actually and I do have a handful of software utilities ready to be deployed in times of emergency. Back then, I'm always get paranoid whenever something bad had happened to my PC. I easily get worried and sometimes skip my classes for a day just to keep the PC in good shape and running smoothly. I learned a lot of lessons from that. Now, whenever a virus, spy ware, malware or any whatnots that are not supposed to be there popped out on my PC, I calmly perform my own procedures of removing them successfully.
From those experiences, my senses became more enhanced. I know in advance whether something has change in my PC. From the time it boot's up, use it and shutting it down, I know when something is wrong. Even without scanning and seeing the log alerts on my security software. So, if you want to test my security measures, please feel free to hack my PC. Be sure to email me the contents of my PC's "root directory". As well as some files in my hard drive to prove that you had successfully infiltrated and bypassed my security arsenal. Hehe.
That's not it, but since I am only given 7, eh di seven lang. Now is the time to tag 7 people. I'll tag Nash, Yatot, Eloiski, Hethler, Bean, Jonas and Georgette. For those people whom I've tagged kindly create a post containing your 7 random facts/habits about you. Then tag 7 people and let them know you've tagged them. Wee!

If it wasn't for me, the dean wouldn't announce the scheduled date for the release of the graduation pictures. :D
I went to school yesterday to inquire about the new updates they posted on the bulettin. I haven't visited the school for almost a month now. I found out that it was the last day of submission of forms for the yearbook. I fill up one and asked Mr. MJ if the payment was also due today. He said it's not yet appropriate for now and the form currently act as a projection of the number of students agreed to have a yearbook. Yesterday was also the release of the toga.
Today, I went back again to get my graduation pictures. I arrived exactly 1 pm and excitedly entered the hallway on the 3rd floor of the RGV building. I saw Ms. Rubylen and asked her about it. She said the pictures will be delivered 3 pm. I was 2 hours early. I went to a small eatery and ordered a sisig. I forgot to eat my lunch at home before I head out because of pure excitement. :D. I went to Networld Internet Cafe after eating and spend the rest of the time chatting and surfing the Internet. 2:40 pm, I went on to the 3rd floor and saw a pile-up of graduating students getting their pictures. Of course, I got mine. See below.
My scanner hasn't been used for a year now and it's glass bed has some dirt and accumulated moisture. The result, lines and spots of dirt are present on most of my scanned images.

Not all of my pictures containing different poses will be posted here. I found them weird and ask myself "Is this me?". To give you a picture, my left eye got shrunked. I don't know why, maybe because of the angle? I look different and as if I was smacked by a huge cotton filled with powder. In other words, I look very white. Maybe something to do with the lighting. I don't know. It's different from the picture I uploaded above. Oh well.

Meet my pussy!

This is a long post about my lovable pet pussy-cat named "Muning". Since I don't have anything to post aside from this non-sense, I decided to go along with it. This is my first ever post about my pet so please, (utang na loob) bear with me. :D
History: Muning is the son of Miming (mother stray cat). He is the 2nd batch of kittens nurtured by Miming (The mother's 2nd pregnancy). Currently, most of Muning's siblings are gone. Two of them were given away (2 female white cats) and the orange one died 2 years ago. We decided to get rid or give away female offspring because we only want few cats to remain. Also to prevent them from multiplying in our house. Right now, all that's left was the 3 year old Muning and Ming (the only child from the first batch). All were male.
Characteristics of Muning: Muning is 3 years old. Has a white fur, blue eyes, pink nose, pink hole (you know, the hole at the back), and a 12-inch tail. He weighs 4 kilograms (thanks to my weighing scale), unclipped toe nails and contains some wounds and scratches in the back of his neck due to previous cat fights.
Behaviors
1. Sleeping: Through the past 3 years, I saw Muning's different types of sleeping positions. Note: the following types of positions were created by me. Positions like "The curl" where he bends and curls like that of a centipede. The "Side Position" where he lays flat on his side and his arms and legs stretched out perpendicular to his body. The "Stretch" position is much like of the Side position. However, the arms and legs are stretched out parallel to his body and sometimes he lies flat on a 45 degree angle. The "Spread" position is where Muning lies on his back, stretching out his arms in opposite directions as well as his legs. Exposing his flat tummy and 6 nipples.
Then there's this one position I rarely see. At the moment I can't determine what to call this position. See for yourself. Click the link to see the images.

I captured this a month ago while he was sleeping on the sofa. I held back my laugh as I took his picture. I want to capture this perfect moment of taking a picture without him being disturbed or be awaken by my sudden burst of laughter. Lol! He stayed in that position for 30 minutes until he woke up and do the curl position.
2. Sex: There is a specific time or season where the male cats get horny. Vet's call this the mating season. Male cats search for feline pheromones and track their whereabouts. The female on the other hand begin their "pakipot gestures" within the presence of male cats. By rolling and rubbing their backs on the ground, the female cats signal their readiness in foreplay. Other sexual behavior of cats include a chasing scenario where the male runs after the female and force her who resist to engage in sex. When two are ready and the male had taken control over the female, the male cat bites her back and begins the drilling process.
Muning has these behaviors and seen him do it. He already have an offspring to different female cats. Concubinage is not an issue to them contrary to humans where Christians provoke this kind of practice. It's a natural way of reproducing much faster than humans.
3. Eating: Muning is always wandering around the neighborhood to feed his unquenchable thirst for curiosity. He only comes back during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yes, he is like us eating at least 3 times a day. He simply walks in front of our gate and meows, calling his owner. Despite that Muning has a way in through a small hole, he insist to enter through our gate. He's accustomed to our eating schedules probably because he always hear the sound of clanking spoon, fork, plates and even the smell of the food at those times. When we are ready to feed him, we just simply make a sound out of a spoon hitting the plate like that of a percussion instrument. He meows back and quickly go to the source of the sound. We sometimes call his name "Muning" in a high note to signal the food service. Cats can hear much louder than humans. Even a single scratch of a spoon against a plate will cause Muning to stop whatever he was doing.
4. Hygiene: Most house cats are cleaned regularly by their pet owners by washing them with water and shampoo. In Munings case, we don't. We tried before bathing him inside our bathroom and he keeps on resisting and makes a lot of meows. We decided to let him do his natural way of cleaning himself.
Cats hygiene involves licking their fur to clean out most of the dirt. It is a normal behavior most cats do for hundreds of years and it works. However, there are times where he goes back home filthy. I dampen a cloth with a mild shampoo solution and help him clean the stubborn dirt in his paw and fur.
Aside from licking his fur, he likes to lick his balls, his penis and his a-hole. Yes, cats do that. It's a normal procedure in their everyday living. Remember the cat licking something in Shrek 2? (although they don't let you see it, but you get the idea). It may seem grouse but its a part of their hygiene. Imagine you're a cat and licking those parts. What could be the taste like? hehe.
Proper pooping is essential to their hygiene. Unlike when Muning is still a kitten and loves to poop everywhere he thinks is favorable. A litter box is needed to support his need for proper waste disposal. However, we don't need to. In the side of our house is an open space with a lot of soil covered in sand. This is most favorable because he has a large area to poop on. No hassle in digging the sand and covering the waste afterwards. It doesn't stink actually. Muning is good at containing his poop under the sand.
5. Nasty behaviors: There are some behaviors cats do that is necessary for them but annoying for us humans.
Male cats tend to spray their urine on specific objects and locations in their area. It may be annoying for us but this behavior is normal to them. According to what I've read on the internet, cats do this to mark their territory. Cats are territorial and urine is a sign that reminds or warns other cats before they pass or go into the other. This happens when multiple cats are on the area, each marking their own territory. Cat urine leaves a foul smell and cleaning may be cumbersome.
One time, Muning turned his back on me and sprayed his urine on my feet. WTF?! He marks me as his territory?! Lol! I hit him slightly for doing that. Bad Muning.
Another Munings normal behavior is scratching. Cats love to scratch. This is their way of exercising their paws and nails for cat fights and hunting. Special scratching posts have been created for cats that are now available in the market. Typical scratch posts are made of wood. Some with ropes wrapped around the post for better cling. In our case, we don't have one. Instead, Muning heads toward our upholstered sofa and do his scratch. Yikes! Even our old stereo speaker cover has fallen victim to Muning's need to scratch. The carpet was another of his past time scratching area. My workaround, I don't scold or hit my cat. I just look for something Muning will scratch to permanently. I found this rug and flipped it over. I let him scratch there. Do this everyday and in due time he will permanently scratch it instead of your furniture.
Food
We may think that all foods human consumes can be consumed by cats. Well, no and their diet is different especially my spoiled Muning.
1. Meat: He doesn't eat pork. Beef and Chicken is mostly preferred.
2. Seafoods: Almost all kinds of fish, Squid and shrimp.
3. Canned Goods: He consumes sardines but he doesn't eat the fish, the sauce is the one he's after. I wonder why? Corned beef is his favorite. Specific brand is Purefoods (Chunkee the best). He doesn't like Argentina and others aside from Purefoods brand.
4. Beverage: Milk and Water.
5. Dessert: He likes Yema and products made from milk.
6. Vegetable: Muning is not a vegetarian.
Like and Dislikes
A. Likes
1. likes to be caressed and rubbed particularly on the neck, on the head, stomach and his spinal cord.
2. He like his nipple pinched.
3. He likes my treatment. I treat him as a dog nowadays. When he's around, I made him follow most of the time wherever I go. (uto-uto)
B. Dislikes
1. Molesting him by squeezing and hitting (pitikin) his balls like what my cousin used to do before.
2. Hitting him on the head and nose
3. Steeping on his tail
4. Other cat stealing his food (when it comes to this, Muning is a coward)
Now you know more about Muning. He is my living stuffed toy. Look how close we are.
This post may or may not be added later on. You, my readers, can ask questions about Muning through me of course. Alangan namang tanungin nio si Muning. Buti kung nagsasalita siya. Ehehe.

I noticed a huge jump of incoming links and blogs that link to my blog on my Technorati account. From the previous 24, it is now 45. My curiosity began to kick in as I looked upon those links that led to my blog address. My first thought was, "What did I post that made me rank to Technorati around 90,000+?". Soon, I saw similar posts, all about the nominees from the Philippine Blog Awards. Obviously, I was one of the nominee's from the two different award categories. One was the "Personal Blog Entry" and the other was the "Best Blog Design Category".
Here are the nominees for the Personal Category
