In response to both Mr. Bluep of OTWOMD and Ms. Marni of Midori-X's Desktop Free View tag that was bestowed upon me. I, JP aka Elmo now brings you my 2 desktop snapshots of my 2 PC's. Let me first explain why I did took two screen capture from both my 2 PC's. The time when I knew I was tagged by Bluep is when I was using my faster PC. I followed the instructions on his post, pressed the "print screen" in my keyboard, paste it on Macromedia Fireworks and exported the image as JPG. Two days later, Marni tagged me with the same topic. I was using the other, slower PC when I read her entry. I took the snapshot, used Paint and then produce the image file. A draft post was already created by the time I finished uploading the images .

    PC A

This is my most utilized desktop PC among the two. All of my activities that includes editing photos, ripping CD's, web designing, audio editing, net surfing and playing some strategy games are done here. Based on the number of icons on my desktop, one can distinguish when I'm busy with something or not. Usually, folders are the only one that is visible on my desktop that is located on the right side. Why on the right? All icons that were created, downloaded or moved to the desktop appear first on the top-left. That way, I can separate the temporary icons from the permanent ones. As you can see above (click the image for a larger view), there are numerous icons on the left. It means that I'm doing something like the recent blog layout/theme re-construction and the upcoming face lift of my main site. For me, putting icons/files on the desktop when your doing something important is easier. Rather than opening up windows and scan through directories. When I'm done with it, those temporary icons go to the "Files Removable" folder where I got to choose which one's to delete.

When it comes to wallpapers, I like the nature themed desktop background most. It relaxes me whenever I look or stare at it. Especially when I sit in front of the computer for several hours reading articles or surfing the net. I'm also choosy when it comes to wallpapers. It must match the color of my taskbar. :D. Some samples can be found here also.

BTW, I'm also using an Icon management utility called "Rocket Dock", the icons that you see on the taskbar. It is a nifty tool that let's you manage icons. For more info, please visit the Rocket Dock website.

    PC B

This PC is what I called a "desktop software-testing unit". Icons always clutter up this desktop as I download, install and test a handful of interesting software/applications I found on the internet. Here, I decide which of the following tested software is the right one to be installed on my other PC. I do this to prevent program errors during and after installation that may compromise my faster PC. Aside from these, I put some files here for easier access which later left there unused. I do download torrents and those files lands on the desktop as a folder which contains lots of audio files.

Any kind of wallpaper is selected as the desktop background on this PC. As long as it matches the color of the taskbar. This time, I chose the "penguin with the igloo" wallpaper. It looks cute kasi eh.

Now comes the tagging part. I'll tag Aaron, Makoy, Yatot, Neil, Jehzlau, Helthler, Karlo , Lalon and Allen.

    TAG STARTS HERE

    My Desktop Free View Instruction:

    A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. You can do a screen capture by:

[1] Going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).

[2] Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V).

[3] If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.

    B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of Icons, things like that.

    C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.

    D. Add your name to this list of Free Viewers with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.
