Photo Manipulations

Remember the movie "Face/Off" starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage? In the movie, they have this technology that can surgically remove and transfer one's face onto another. In reality, surgeons today doesn't have that expertise or capability to do that. Although plastic surgery is most common today (especially in beauty enhancement, skin grafting for burned patients, removal of scars and the like), our current age doesn't have the technology to precisely remove one's face and transplant it into another.

But what if we can? Yes we can, by using a photo editing software.

Instead of modifying an actual living human face, let's deal with a photo or image of a human being. Using a photo editing software let's you do almost the impossible. Let's say we have a picture of "Wendy" from Pinoy Big Brother 2. If you hated her so much, you can load her picture on one of your favorite photo editing software (like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Photopaint) modify her face by putting ugly scars, blemishes and other whatnots to make her look very ugly. Other options like cropping her face and put it on another body let's say on a very sexy porn star then make a headline out of it. Haha! We've seen it nowadays on entertainment news... images like the Sam Milby-Piolo Pascual scandal where the two was seen holding hands on a photo...later proved to be edited. There are lots of professionals out there that can manipulate that and make bad publicity out of it. I myself knows how to do photo manipulations but never indulge myself into doing that unnecessary things I mentioned before. I do follow my own code of ethics about manipulating photos. Some examples below.

I do have some photo manipulations that I've done 2 years ago using Corel Photopaint. Yep, I never used the famous Adobe Photoshop into doing my manipulation abilities. Here are some of my "so called" deviations.

    (a)

    a. Can you spot the not? Notice the differences of the faces from the first image and into the second. If you saw and met me last July 3 at the Taste Asia Blogger Event, you probably and surely know what image is the real one. Take time to investigate on this by clicking the image for a larger view. Enjoy. Haha!

    (b)

    b. Another of my manipulations. I decided to put my face on top of Harry Potter. Although not superb as the one above, I'm able to retain the eyeglasses above my face. That's a secret tehcnique. :p

    (c)

    c. Mukhang abnoy! (looks abnormal), as what my friend previously said to me when I send this image to him. This is an image poster of "Reed Richards" from the "Fantastic Four". As usual, I put my face on it. Haha. Click the image for larger view.

My other deviations: The following images are created from an empty workspace.

    (1)

    1. Above image shows an image of me together with George W. Bush. Haha. The background was an image taken from inside a hotel (taken from the Internet) added myself and Mr. Bush. Add some lighting effects and you'll get an image that was shot using a camera with a flash.

    (2)

    2. I have this crush on Karel Marquez before that's why I added her to one of my dream photo shot together with Jojo. As usual, photo created from scratch. Pieced them together and tada! ... masterpiece. Haha.

***Editing photos requires skill, knowledge, creativity, patience and perseverance. If you want to do what other professional graphic editors do, one should have those qualities. Another thing, using the best graphic editing suite in the market is not a guarantee of being a professional graphic artist. It's how you use it.

Is this true? I found an image link from the internet (based from my referral stats) about Harry Potter. I decided to post it here because it may somewhat related to this post... about photo manipulations. When I first look at it, I already assumed it was fake... but this image is surely a magnificent edit in Phototoshop I guess. I almost laughed when I saw it.
