Testing: Globe Tattoo Wireless Broadband Prepaid

This is my first time to test and experience Globe Tattoo Wireless Broadband Prepaid which I bought last Sunday from Globe Business Center in SM Muntinlupa. I want to try this if it really works, surfing with faster download speeds indicated by Globe. I’m going back to Romblon this weekend and I’ll be carrying this Globe USB dongle with me. I do have wired unlimited monthly internet subscription in Romblon on our shop. However, the connection was slow especially during peak hours. The local internet provider there is powered by Smart, solely relying on its wireless signal to provide internet for local subscribers. P1500/month on 128kbps is expensive. I’ll be using this Globe Tattoo in Romblon and hopefully this could acquire HSDPA signal. According to Globe Tattoo website, the province of Romblon is covered by HSDPA. I’ll soon find out.

Personal Review of Windows 7 Release Candidate Part 2

This is the second part of my personal review of Windows 7 release candidate. Here, I share my first hands on experience with this upcoming OS from Microsoft. This week I learned that Windows 7 is confirmed to be available before the holiday season. Yep, Redmond guys already confirmed this official launch to be final unless something happens along the way that will postpone it. Don’t worry, this is only a typical Microsoft OS launching you should get used to. Let’s hope not. Heehee.

Personal Review of Windows 7 Release Candidate Part 1

Windows 7 will be the next OS Microsoft will introduce to the market after Windows Vista. The tech guys at Redmond claimed that this new Windows OS is much faster and simpler from its predecessors. Your PC Simplified! Microsoft made hundreds of little improvements and a few big ones that add up to a whole lot less. Less waiting, fewer clicks, and less complexity. Windows 7 helps you do more. More work, more play, and more of everything in between. Making every task simpler and every day easier.

My|Phone T22 Dual Active Sim Phone

I bought a new phone last month to replace my aging Nokia 3300 music phone that was in my possession for the past 4 years. Imagine it is still functioning well despite its torture from previous drops. I took care of my personal gadgets that’s why some of them lasts longer.

The need for a replacement phone started when I had another cheap phone from Nokia to handle our loadwallet business in my shop. I started carrying two mobile phones in my pocket. One personal (3300) and one cheap Nokia phone (forgot what the model number is) for my loading. It’s difficult to put them on both sides of your pocket. I don’t want to buy those small bags just to lug my 2 mobile phones inside it. I just don’t like something dangling on my waistline. I wondered if there is one phone that can handle two sims, that’ll be great. There are previous workaround to this problem. The mobile techie guys had created a two sim device that enables the phone to switch from one sim to the other by keying the code to shutdown the phone and switch to the other sim when the phone is rebooted. Compatible phones I know was the Nokia 3210. Now I won’t dig to that since 3210 is way old now. And then comes the first dual active sim phone in the market.

Random Post: Traffic Surge and Smart’s MyTV

There’s a lot of things keeping me from acting normally for the past weeks. ^_^. However, these won’t hinder me from blogging and at least visit some blogs and able to comment on some posts. I do have several draft posts since the start of my “so called” vacation status. Aside from these, we are still processing our SmartBRO SME application on one of Smart’s Wireless Centers. We’re hoping for an immediate approval.

This is my random post which includes 2 different topics related to my “kinaaabalahan” from the past weeks. Traffic surge to my blog due to my previous music album review posts and the Smart MyTV tests.

1Mbps DSL Speed Experience

I’m thrilled to see my DSL modem speed indicators shows that our Internet connection now streams data of up to a megabyte downstream and 512 kbps upstream. It was an unexpected event although earlier we planned to upgrade our land line as soon as possible. I never thought that the upgrade will include the increase in DSL speeds until I found out later on during the course of the negotiations.
