About

The author

Hi there! My name is John Paul Monje, a 20 something IT graduate entrepreneur from Laguna who currently resides in Odiongan Romblon for his family’s business. A self obsessed internet freak, a geek perhaps, music lover, a blogger, photography junkie and a stubborn kid. Free and not yet committed individual who likes to travel alone and wishes to go to the places he dreamed of going to. Places like Bohol and Pagudpod in Ilocos Norte was some of my favorite destination to be and hoping that someone could bring me with them. :D

The Blog

I started blogging last July 2006 from a free blogging platform called Friendster blogs. I talked about anything that interests me from gadgets, music, to personal life and such. When the blog got spammed (100+) he moved to another free blogging platform “Blogger” and continued my passion for blogging. The title of my blog was Elmo’s Kablogblogan. From then on, I enjoyed meeting new acquaintances on the same niche as my blog. Joined blog contests and spread my blog into the blogosphere. Later that year, influenced by the “Kokokrunch commercial”, I renamed my blog title to “Ako si Eagleman” from one of the taglines in the commercial. It was a catch for some and started referring me as “eagleman” from then on. Year 2007 I bought my own domain “jpmonje.com” from ploghost. At that time I wanted my blog address to be professional in a way without being a subdomain from a free blogging platform address. However, the domain only redirects to my old address in blogspot and I never had the chance to fully integrate my domain to my blogger account. My stupidity and lack of time to arrange that resulted for me to purchase another domain “jpmonje.net” under philhosting which includes a hosting account. Blogger was still my blogging platform but I publish my files and posts through ftp. My old blogger address now redirects to my new address http://jpmonje.net/eagleman.

May 2008 I decided to create a new personal blog into my site’s root address because I seldom update my blog. My temporary stay in Odiongan that took a year plus the busy schedule everyday made my blog less updated. I decided that JPMonje.net was the new blog title. Also, I switch to wordpress as my new blogging platform. I find it easy for me to manage posts and comments in wordpress and I think that it could help me juggle my blogging and my work. It didn’t spark a new motive for me nor bring back the passion once again to blog.

January of 2009 the following year, I brought back my blogging mojo once again by choosing a free wordpress magazine theme. The theme was so beautiful it inspired me once again to do posts at least 2 times a week. My interest kick in once more creating posts ahead by scheduling them. All was good for now.
