Charlie Green CD
Charlie Green, a 10 year old Filipino-British school boy who was featured on Britain’s Got Talent, recorded his first ever album CD when he visited the Philippines last September of this year. Produced and distributed by Star Records, this 11 track CD composes of revived classic songs from Frank Sinatra’s “Summer Wind”, “All of Me” and “Fly Me To The Moon”, Louis Armstrongs’s “What A Wonderful World”, Nat King Cole’s “Smile”, Richard Poon’s “Mama Said So”, Cedric Whitehouse’s “In My World”, our very own Pilita Corales’ “Dahil Sa Yo” and three other tracks in tune for the Christmas holidays.
I found Charlie Green’s voice similar to that of the American country music singer Billy Gilman famous for the song “One Voice” and “Dream a Dream” duet with Charlotte Church. “Summer Wind” is the song that made Charlie popular on a reality show in Britain. I simply love his young voice, it’s flawless. I’m glad that the producers of the album included an original Pinoy song “Dahil Sa ‘Yo” in his debut album. Just listening to Charlie’s rendition of the filipino song into his own accent, I find it amusing as how he pronounced the Tagalog words in the song.
