Yeah, you read it right. I guess Smart joined the bandwagon on regular budget loads that Globe introduced recently. So, 15 pesos is the new lowest load from Smart. This morning, I received a text notification from Smart about the new service and the SmartLoad menu.

Isa ka sa napiling mabigyan ng updated SmartLoad menu. Ngayon, pwede ka ng magbenta ng LahaTxt at P15 Load via menu. Mas madali na magbenta kaya mas malaki ang kita!

My sim is a retailer sim pushed 3 years ago so I normally receive these alerts even if I don’t do loading anymore. The text message means that updating of SmartLoad menu is now working again. I think it’s nice for them to fix it since loading their Smart LahaTxt requires you to write a message containing the details for loading and then sending it to 343. At least, the ease of loading now lies on the updated menu.

I believe that Smart subscribers will get into this since I always notice that more subscribers are loading “Pasaload” denominations (2, 5, 10 and 15 peso denominations) just to save money and are on a tight budget. You can make calls and text under 15 pesos however they didn’t mention the airtime of calls under this.

About the popularity of LahaTxt, I think it is not yet gaining such momentum even if they launch the TV ad. For the past month I only loaded LahaTxt for merely 3 to 5 times only here in our sari-sari store.
